Perinatal Support
Support through pregnancy, postpartum, loss, and the emotional complexities of reproductive transitions.
The perinatal period can bring profound change — physically, emotionally, relationally, and psychologically.
Pregnancy, postpartum, and reproductive transitions can be meaningful and significant experiences, but they can also feel overwhelming, isolating, or unexpectedly complex.
Many individuals experience shifts in identity, relationships, expectations, and emotional wellbeing during this time.
Perinatal psychotherapy offers space to process these experiences, develop supportive resources, and navigate this period with greater understanding and care.
I bring over 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with much of my clinical work focused in labour and delivery. In this role, I supported individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and experiences of loss.
Working closely with people during these deeply meaningful and often vulnerable experiences has shaped my understanding of the emotional complexity that can arise during the perinatal period.
This background informs my therapeutic work and supports an integrative understanding of the relationship between emotional, physical, and relational wellbeing.
Perinatal therapy is grounded in compassion, respect, and an understanding that this period can involve both joy and challenge.
My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from:
nervous system regulation
somatic awareness
mindfulness-based practices
relational psychotherapy
parts-informed perspectives
Sessions provide space to explore emotional experiences, identity changes, relational dynamics, and the many transitions that can arise during this time.
Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs.
Some individuals seek short-term support during a specific period of transition, while others appreciate ongoing space for reflection and integration.
Therapy can support:
greater emotional stability
increased self-understanding
processing of past or present experiences
greater confidence navigating change
development of supportive internal and external resources
